Our story
Maana Health was founded by Nikhil George on 1 March 2021. Since then, our clinics have treated more than 2,700 spine patients.
Maana Spine brings that spine work together under one name, with one program: Maana Spine DTX™.
What we're working towards
Our mission is to help people live more healthy, active years. We do this through conservative, evidence-based treatment programmes, and by making a positive difference in the communities where we live and work.
Our vision is to become a patient-centred group of clinics that leads the way in evidence-based preventive and non-surgical care.
How we work
We look for the cause. Pain is a symptom. Your assessment is about finding out what's behind it, so your treatment can target the cause and not just the pain.
We personalise your care. Your spine is unique, and your treatment should be too. Maana Spine DTX™, our Precision Spine Care program, follows six stages (Assess, Decompress, Restore, Strengthen, Empower and Maintain) adapted to your condition.
We're physiotherapist-led, and we say so. You'll be seen by physiotherapists with specialist spine training from Maana Spine. You'll usually see the same physiotherapist throughout your program, overseen by the clinic's senior physiotherapist. We're not a doctor's clinic, and if you need a doctor, we'll tell you.
We tell you about surgery honestly. Non-surgical care is a reasonable first step for most people. Surgery stays available. If your assessment suggests you should see a surgeon, we'll tell you.
We're open about the evidence. Our evidence pages explain what research shows about our treatments, including where it's limited and where guidelines disagree.
We stay with you after treatment. Follow-up is in person at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months after your program. The 1- and 3-month follow-ups are included in your program fee; the 6- and 12-month reviews are charged separately.

Our clinical team
Our physiotherapists have specialist spine training from Maana Spine. The clinical content on this website is written and reviewed by members of the team:
- Ansu Susan Kuriakose, BPT: author of our clinical pages. 5+ years' experience.
- Jasmal K, BPT, MPT: clinical reviewer of our clinical pages. 5+ years' experience.
How we write this website
Every clinical page on this site is written by a physiotherapist and reviewed by our clinical reviewer, a physiotherapist with a master's degree (MPT), before it's published, and shows the date it was last reviewed. We base our pages on clinical guidelines, systematic reviews and clinical trials, and link to every source. Where research is limited, or a guideline disagrees with how we work, we say so.
